The Scotts Miracle-Gro company supports and sponsors the creation of community green space. Building gardens is a great way for adults and children to connect with nature and the finished projects offer people lifelong enjoyment.
In 2008, as part of the "Give Back to Grow" corporate program, Scotts Miracle-Gro and Keep America Beautiful are partnering on the following initiatives:
- Build five community green spaces across the country:

- Orlando, FL: March 22
- Dallas, TX: April 12
- Washington, D.C.: May 3
- Columbus, OH: May 10
- Philadelphia, PA: May 17
- Build a learning garden at Benjamin Franklin School in Newark, NJ and give urban kids the chance to connect with, and learn from, nature
- Support an additional 25 green spaces

On April 15, Miracle-Gro transformed New York City from a concrete jungle to an oasis of urban gardening and spring flowers. The famed Madison Square Garden radiated with "Gro Time" energy, with the help of hundreds of local children and residents.
